My name is Ellian Rohrbacher and cheese has become my passion. I fell into cheese by chance as a cheesemonger, and many opportunities followed to get me back to Portland and to launch La Femme Fromage. La Femme Fromage (est. 2017) was born in Portland, OR  out of the desire for creating edible art in the form of cheeseboards and sharing my passion for all things cheese. Presenting memorable experiences with cheese is not only nourishing, but entertaining. La Femme Fromage wants to provide that adventure, while also making it approachable. 

The world of cheese is vast and can be quite intimidating; and La Femme Fromage wants to be your guide and help you navigate this wonderful world of cheese. Whether it is customizing a cheeseboard for your next game night, designing grazing tables for your wedding reception, or hosting a private cheese class, La Femme Fromage wants to simplify and elevate your catering needs.

A wise cheese mentor once told me “cheesemongers are the shepherds of the cheese”. This metaphor not only stuck with me, it has become a mantra. I love sharing my passion and utter respect for cheese with others. Cheese has such a way of transporting us to its origins, a nostalgic memory, or even creating an immediate imprint upon its first bite. Bringing that experience to people’s doors is what feeds my soul. Serving that passion and being able to witness that moment when the right cheese strikes you, is really what it is all about. Whether it is a custom cheeseboard or a cheese pairing event/class (cheese goes with everything), La Femme Fromage provides me the creative outlet to let people see that good cheese deserves a place at the table for any occasion.
