What does food mean to you?
How curious am I? What drives me to this "blog" concept? What is my purpose here?
Well I believe there are multiple reasons for this effort. Now in this gin-fueled entry, I will be candid. I want to share my existence with other food-based humans. I want to have a running dialogue with other food-centric beings that are as passionate about food as I am. Let me be clear; this is not about ego. I would hate to be seen as so transparent. No, this is about getting involved with others that cannot seem to get food off their minds. Not a proving ground for those desperate to be "all-knowing" in the ways of food, but more of a safe haven for inquiries and brainstorming. Finding others who also feel driven to experience life through the flavors of food. I would love for my blog to provide more of an open-ended conversation with like-minded people. Food for me, is an adventure. Whether I am experiencing the rollercoaster in my own kitchen, or tasting the result of someone else's journey; it is the search for knowledge and flavor that pushes me on.
I am surely going to read this in the morning and realize that this is just verbal diarrhea. But without getting to the level of velveeta (cheese factor), I feel that there are many others out there that feel the same way. Although I am not a professional chef, food is an ever-present topic in my mind. While some would rather dissect the last episode of The Bachelor, I am usually blurting out to my boyfriend's daughters, my menu and approach to the mystery ingredients served in the basket on Chopped. I know I'm not the only person out there that feels and does the same so I welcome your views and opinions and urge you to be vocal on my page because the feedback is a true motivator for myself and possibly a jumping off point for the more timid.
On that note, I would relish the opportunity to hear what food-curious minds are up to and what keeps you up at night (whether or not to tackle those french macarons?)...
